Student delegation from Wangen im Allgäu visits Schnitzer Consulting in Shanghai
As part of a 14-day excursion to China, the students of the elective subject “International Business Studies” from the Wangen Business High School had the opportunity to visit the Asian location of the Schnitzer Group in the German Center Shanghai. The excursion was organized and led by senior teacher Susanne Baum-Mitterhofer.
The visit began with a meeting with Mr. Christian Sommer, Managing Director of the German Center, who warmly welcomed the group of students. Leo Palma, CEO of Schnitzer Consulting Shanghai Co. Ltd, then welcomed the delegation and provided exciting insights into the Asian business and the daily work of the Schnitzer Group.
Mr. Palma explained in detail the production of automotive exterior and interior parts such as sun visors, cooling housings and outside mirrors. He discussed the production processes and the specific challenges faced by the Chinese team. The presentation by Alexander Wen, who has been working for the Schnitzer Group since February 2024, was also particularly interesting. The young mechanical engineer talked about his professional career and gave valuable tips on career development.
The visit concluded with a lively Q&A session in which the students learned more about everyday working life at the Schnitzer Group and life in China. The excursion provided the participants with valuable insights into the international business world and China's culture and will certainly be remembered for a long time to come.
